The unique Siemens-Schuckert D.IV with airshow number "22" seen at the "Exposition des Avions de Guerre et du Matériel Aéronautique" organized between 19 - 27July 1919

Single engine single seat fighter aircraft

In 1919/1920  Belgium had amassed no less than 700+ German Air Force aircraft, either as war reparation (laid down in the Versailles treaty) or machines abandoned on several airfields all over Belgium. A small number of the more "exotic" types were restored to flying condition for testing purposes and attributed to individual pilots. (See also Fokker E.V and Pfalz D.XII). The very compact Siemens-Schuckert D.IV  fighter as such was attributed to Lt. Louis Robin and presented at several airshows. For its appearance at the first post WWI event at the Evere "Exposition des Avions de Guerre et du Matériel Aéronautique" organized between 19 & 27July 1919 the individual airshow number "22" was attributed to this unique Siemens-Schuckert D.IV. Robin also demonstrated this fighter during the 1920 Antwerp Olympiades.
