EG-150

North American T-6 Harvard

This rare picture shows a Gloster Meteor F.8 of the 11th Squadron of the 1st Wing at Beauvechain. This night-fighter squadron was at that time equipped with the A.-W. Meteor NF.11 but had several F.8s on the inventory. This particular aircraft EG-150/KT-D is seen after it crashed at Beauvechain airbase on 15 September 1955. Although the machine lost its complete tail-section the pilot, Sgt. Vandervelden, fortunately remained uninjured
