On 28 June 1954, Gloster Meteor F.8 EG-31/7J-J of N° 7 Squadron / 7th Wing had to make an emergency wheels-up landing in a field near Lens (F.). The aircraft was not repaired but went instead to the Technical School of Saffraanberg where major parts served as instructional objects.
