Corporal Joseph d'Hespel while fulfilling his military service in front of his de Brouckère-Deperdussin at Brasschaat-Polygone airfield in early 1913. d'Hespel operated his aircraft for the Company d'Aviateurs who paid for fuel and maintenance. This particular aircraft was not among those used by the Compagnie d"Aviateurs at the start of World War One.
