Sergeant Gustave Boël, according to Willy Coppens, was a typical victim of the unforgiving Sopwith Camel. In his short career he twice got in a spin flying the Camel. In the last accident on 7 August 1918 he unfortunately lost his life when on take-off from Houtem airbase he again spinned into the ground.
