On 3 April 1951 the first three Thunderjets were officially presented to the Belgian Air Force. First unit to receive this American jets was the 2nd Wing based at Florennes. Later in its career the F-84E also served with N° 9 Wing based at Bierset and N° 10 Wing of Kleine Brogel. The "E" models were replaced by the more advanced F-84G Thunderjet.
