Once the biggest airbase of the Belgian Air Force, housing the Advanced Pilot Training School and Transport units, Kamina has lost its former glory with only a basic maintenance keeping the airfield operational. Airbus CA-02 is seen at Baka on 30 November 2005.
The Egyptian Falcon crest of the Advanced Pilot School - Ecole de Pilotage Avancé (EPA) - Vorderings Vliegschool (VVS) still visible in July 2006 on one of the buildings at Kamina airbase at the Democratic Republic of Congo.
