Abandoned at Grimbergen airfield by the Luftwaffe Flieger Zielgeschwader II, this French built Dewoitine 520 fighter  found its way to nearby Melsbroek airfield, where it was pictured in September 1945.

A typical scene at Melsbroek airbase in the seventies, at the moment that the 15 Transport-Wing was being completely reequipped. From left to right you can recognise a Mystère 20, Boeing 727, Percival Pembroke and its replacement the Swearingen Merlin and on the foreground the venerable C-47 Dakota. This picture was taken from the military passenger terminal on 7 May 1976.
