In 1936 Sabena Fokker F.VIIb/3m OO-AIU had to make an emergency landing in a field at Flandria, near Lake Tumba in Belgian Congo. The cause of the emergency was the failure of the right engine. Fortunately nobody was hurt in the crash landing but the aircraft lost part of its undercarriage in the process. Some time later the aircraft was dismantled and the fuselage towed to the nearest airfield but it never flew again, its registration being cancelled on 09 September 1936. (Research Gaston De Mol, Jacques Schelfaut and Georges Lecomte).
