
This map of the early thirties clearly shows the situation of Gosselies airfield compared to Charleroi. The airfield was the home of the civil flying-school ran by World War One Ace Fernand Jacquet.

Gosselies seen in the early spring of 1956. The aircraft in the foreground is a Silver City Bristol Superfreighter while in the back, Sabca personnel is seen preparing one of the first Belgian Air Force Hawker Hunter F.4 fighters for a test flight.
