A visit to the Aero Para Club der Kempen - Malle airfield

The “Aero Para Club der Kempen” (APCK) is based at the NATO reserve airfield of Malle or Oostmalle-Zoersel wearing the appropriate official ICAO codename EBZR. The APCK also house a glider club, Koninklijke Antwerpse Zweefclub Meeuw (KAZM) and a home builders club called the Flemish Amateur Aircraftbuilders (FAA).

Besides of the regular flying activities (only on Saturday, Sunday and holidays) the Aero Para Club der Kempen has recently been authorised to organise private pilot flying courses for which it uses 4 single engine aircraft:

Besides the above mentioned machines the airfield also houses some 15 other privately owned aircraft.

Two of the best known APCK activities are the annual Chipmeet (with spotting-arrangement) and the Fly-in (possibly this year also with spotting-facility).

Due to the Keiheuvel Fly-in on July 31st 2010, activity at Zoersel was rather limited, but fortunately the base-commander was kind enough to inform that some “special guests” were expected.

The airfield, its surrounding and the people are certainly worth while visiting, maybe within a fortnight on their Fly-in the 21st en 22nd of August 2010.
