Schaffen - Diest Oldtimer Fly-In 2012

 

 

 

  The 29th International Oldtimer Fly/Drive-In was organised on at Schaffen-Diest airfield on the weekend of 11 and 12 August 2012.  Contrary to last year’s edition this very smoothly organised gathering of aircraft and vintage cars was blessed with some of the best weather since the start of the summer holidays. Thanks to these marvelous conditions a record number of participants turned up for the weekend. A total of no less that 251 aircraft participated in this 29th edition and this in spite of a temporarily safety measure in the framework of the London Olympic Games which allowed only transponder equipped aircraft to cross the English Chanel.

Not many warbirds turned up but some great vintage machines could be admired in the large aircraft parking area. Highlights were the De Havilland DH.84 Dragon and the Messerschmitt BF-108.
