Engines on the Blocks - Edition Oct 2010 |
|
On October
10th, 2010 the
Many people were curious to experience this event, the fine
weather also contributed to make it a success.
The first one to be rolled out was the Fokker E.V (N111EV) complete with pilot in 1920's style flying suit. The engine started without any problem.
The Nieuport 24's (N2262G) engine was slightly more
stubborn to start, but after some priming provided the spectators with
the beautiful sound and caster oil smell of it’s original 1918 rotation
engine. Superb !
The Fouga Magister MT-13 (now on display at the museum) was a
silent witness to the event and watched it with much approval.
Thx to the SV Museum crew
